FEAST.
March 8 - April 6, 2025
Written by Megan Gogerty
Directed by Laura Covelli
Performed by Erin Schlabach
In this vivid reimagining of the Beowulf story, Grendel’s mother has thrown a dinner party to seek justice for her son’s murder at the hands of a brutal strongman, only to confront her own guilt and rage. Oscillating between witty banter and pointed exploration, this immersive, heightened high fantasy crashes into our contemporary political moment, asking us to collectively contemplate climate change, income inequality, and state-sponsored violence. Challenging the historical notion of heroism, FEAST. reimagines the Beowulf story as a cautionary tale against the rising forces of authoritarianism.

Directed by Erin Schlabach
Script Consultant - Katy Hilton
Created by the Ensemble (Liesel Euler, Andrew Heffernan, Meredyth Hunt, Gabi Mayorga, Aidan McCollough, Sadie Schwolsky)
Inspired by Ibsen’s A Doll's House and underworld mythology, Before All Else is an ensemble-driven, highly physical imagining of Nora’s inner revolution to know herself after she leaves her husband, children, and everything she has ever known. We are taken on an epic quest through the depths of the underworld as Nora excavates where she has been and where she is going. Humorous and heartbreaking, Before All Else is an inventive unraveling of grief and loss, the search for self and the fear and excitement of what is to come....

The Birthday Show
(In association with Happy Chicken Theater)
Conceived by Erin Schlabach and Meredyth Hunt
Directed by Erin Schlabach
Created by the Ensemble (Meredyth Hunt, Tony Lewellen)
What does it take to celebrate a life? Two bakers. One cake. One wild clown birthday romp through the ups and downs of aging. Performed in backyards throughout Los Angeles.

Crossing the Bridge
Conceived and directed by Erin Schlabach
Created by the Ensemble (Meredyth Hunt, Diogo Lopes, Isabel Nelson, Matt Van Curen, Jones Welsh)
Using humor and creative ensemble imagery, Crossing the Bridge explores one mans journey of facing his own death with the support of his sister. A madcap series of hospital tests; poetic and revealing dinner dances; an absurd episode of The Peoples Court. Moving and humorous, Crossing the Bridge counterpoints highly physical choreography with intimate, raw revelations.
